Dr Daniel Silva is a British Psychological Society (BPS)-approved Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). He is a Chartered Psychologist with the BPS, a Full Practitioner Member of the Division of Neuropsychology and on the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
Dr Silva has a specialist interest in neuropsychiatry, which concerns the interplay between complex mental health and neurological conditions. He has a particular focus on Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and is an advisor for the Quality Network for Neuropsychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. In this role, he contributes to shaping the parameters for good clinical practice in neuropsychiatric services.
His therapeutic approach is integrative and draws on a range of evidence-based models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Systemic Therapy, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
Originally from Brazil, Dr Silva completed all of his professional training in the UK. This international background informs his clinical perspective and underpins a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in psychological practice and education. He provides neuropsychological assessment and psychometric testing in both English and Portuguese, and holds neuropsychological test batteries specifically validated for use with Portuguese-speaking clients.
