Caroline Hardman

Specialist Amputee and Neurological Physiotherapist

Caroline is a Specialist Amputee and Neurological Physiotherapist with Hobbs Rehabilitation, working across the Bristol service and the adaptive rehabilitation setting at Chedington, Dorset. She provides specialist assessment and rehabilitation for individuals with limb loss, neurological injury, and complex trauma, delivering client‑centred, evidence‑based physiotherapy within an interdisciplinary team.

Caroline has a strong interest in global and humanitarian rehabilitation, with experience working in conflict‑affected and low‑resource settings. This has taken her to Cambodia and Ukraine, where she delivered specialist teaching and mentoring sessions for local Physiotherapists, supporting the development of amputee and neurological rehabilitation skills in challenging environments.

She has also managed a Prosthetic and Orthotic service in Malawi, working collaboratively with local clinicians, Government services, and international NGOs. In this role, Caroline supported service development, clinical governance, and capacity building, ensuring sustainable and culturally appropriate rehabilitation provision for people with limb loss.

Caroline brings this international perspective into her work at Hobbs Rehabilitation, applying practical problem‑solving, adaptability, and a strong functional focus to support clients in achieving meaningful outcomes. She values collaborative working and integrates closely with other members of the rehabilitation team to tailor programmes around each client’s individual goals.

Her clinical interests include complex amputee rehabilitation, neurological recovery, functional reintegration, and enabling clients to maximise independence and participation following life‑changing injury. Caroline is passionate about supporting people to regain confidence, autonomy, and quality of life through skilled, compassionate, and progressive rehabilitation.
