Placing You at the Centre of Care

Orthotics Clinic

Bringing specialist orthotic and rehabilitation expertise together to support movement, function and independence.

Hobbs Rehabilitation works collaboratively with specialist orthotic providers to offer orthotic assessments, reviews and follow-up alongside rehabilitation. Depending on your clinical needs, appointments may take place at our Bristol centre or at the orthotic provider’s clinic.

This collaborative approach allows orthotic requirements to be considered alongside your physical function, rehabilitation goals and wider clinical needs.

How can orthotic care support rehabilitation?

Orthotic and rehabilitation needs often work together. By combining specialist orthotic expertise with clinical assessment and rehabilitation, the team can consider how an orthosis supports movement and function within your wider rehabilitation programme.

Orthotic assessment can support people where an orthosis may help with movement, positioning, stability, alignment or functional activity. Reviews can consider how an existing orthosis is working alongside rehabilitation and whether changes may be needed as your needs, abilities or goals develop.

Our collaborative clinics bring together specialist orthotic and rehabilitation expertise. Depending on your clinical requirements, you may be seen at Hobbs Rehabilitation or at the orthotic provider’s clinic.

When attending the orthotic provider, access to specialist technical and workshop facilities allows orthoses to be assessed and adjusted where required. At Hobbs, joint assessments and multidisciplinary reviews can incorporate rehabilitation expertise and, where appropriate, the use of our neurotechnology to support objective outcome measurement and clinical decision-making.

Orthotic care can be integrated into your wider rehabilitation programme at Hobbs Rehabilitation. Our clinicians work collaboratively with specialist providers including Proactive Prosthetics and Dorset Orthopaedic, with clinics available across Bristol and Winchester depending on the provider and your clinical requirements.

Where appropriate, joint appointments can bring the relevant professionals together, helping to reduce multiple visits, improve communication and ensure your orthotic and rehabilitation goals are considered together.
