Support to help you manage persistent pain, regain confidence and return to the activities that matter to you.
Our Pain Rehabilitation service provides personalised, multidisciplinary support for adults living with persistent pain. Delivered face-to-face at our Winchester centre or online, our team works with you to understand the impact of pain and develop strategies to help you work towards your goals and improve your quality of life.
How can pain rehabilitation help you live well with persistent pain?
Pain rehabilitation focuses on developing practical strategies to manage the physical and emotional impact of persistent pain. By building understanding, confidence and self-management skills, rehabilitation can help you gradually return to valued activities and improve your independence and quality of life.
Our service supports adults experiencing persistent pain, including widespread pain, joint, back and neck pain, abdominal pain, headaches and facial pain, musculoskeletal pain, pelvic pain, fibromyalgia, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and hypermobility conditions. Rehabilitation focuses on helping you manage the impact of pain and work towards meaningful everyday goals.
Your rehabilitation may include pain education and management advice, individual physiotherapy and psychological therapy. Your physiotherapist can help you understand your pain and develop personalised strategies to build confidence and return to activities, while psychological therapy can support emotional difficulties associated with living with persistent pain.
At Hobbs Rehabilitation, your programme begins with a multidisciplinary assessment involving a clinical psychologist and physiotherapist. Together, we explore your pain history, lifestyle, wellbeing and personal goals to develop an individualised treatment plan. Appointments can be delivered face-to-face or online, with frequency tailored to your needs, typically weekly or fortnightly. An intensive pain management group programme is also available where appropriate.
We accept self-referrals and referrals from Case Managers, GPs, Consultants, medico-legal professionals, health and social care professionals and the charity sector, with this service available at the following Hobbs Rehabilitation centres:
