Placing You at the Centre of Care

Hobbs Rehabilitation Challenge PD at Liss

April 25, 2025

Residents of Hampshire and the surrounding area living with Parkinson’s are warmly invited to join a local exercise group based in Liss.

Challenge PD is a 10-week exercise programme designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s, ideal for those recently diagnosed or in the early to mid-stages. Located at Liss Village Hall, GU33 7LA, every Tuesday from 1:30PM to 2:30PM, the classes are hosted by experienced neurological physiotherapists from Hobbs Rehabilitation South East

Hobbs Rehabilitation are dedicated providers of neurological and amputee rehabilitation, placing the patient at the centre of care, and have rehabilitation facilities across the South of England. With extensive experience supporting people living with Parkinson’s, and understanding the challenges that come with it, our South East centre in Liss is pleased to offer the Challenge PD exercise class.

Challenge PD is based on well-researched principles aimed at slowing Parkinson’s progression. Each class will not only address common impairments such as freezing, stiffness, and slowness of movement, but will also include educational features to motivate and guide participants.

Alongside being thoughtfully designed to target common Parkinson’s symptoms, this intensive and rewarding exercise programme is a brilliant opportunity for members of the local community to connect with new people, have plenty of laughter and continue keeping active along with others living with Parkinson’s.

Emily Hawkins, Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist at Hobbs Rehabilitation South East comments:

We are really excited to be delivering the Challenge PD classes to help more people get active with Parkinson’s across Hampshire. We hope that more people living with the condition will be able to try something new that gets them moving in a fun and engaging way.

Movement and exercise is hugely beneficial when you live with a long term health condition, such as Parkinson’s. Regular physical activity is shown to improve strength, mobility, endurance and flexibility.

“The Challenge PD class is designed to help target many of the symptoms associated with Parkinson’s through tailored exercise, and to help people increase their confidence and physical ability

“We want participants to enjoy being active together and to improve the symptoms associated with the condition, including balance, strength and mobility.”

We would love to welcome anyone interested in joining Challenge PD. For more information, please contact:
