Placing You at the Centre of Care

Advancing Clinical Excellence Through Education

June 25, 2026

Education and professional development remain central to the ethos of Hobbs Rehabilitation. Across our clinical teams, there is a shared commitment to delivering and engaging in high-quality, evidence-based training that directly enhances patient care.

This commitment extends beyond internal development. Hobbs actively supports a culture of shared learning across disciplines and organisations, collaborating with leading external partners while also contributing to university teaching and wider professional education. The result is a dynamic learning environment where clinicians at all stages of their careers can continue to grow, refine their skills, and remain at the forefront of rehabilitation practice.

A culture of collaborative clinical learning

Recent months have seen a wide range of training activities across Hobbs, reflecting the breadth of clinical expertise within the organisation.

We were pleased to continue our Junior Bobath Training programme, with the successful delivery of a second module hosted by Helen Linfield in collaboration with the Bobath Centre and the BBTA. This provided junior clinicians with the opportunity to develop further understanding of human movement analysis and its application in neurological rehabilitation, combining theoretical learning with practical application.

Alongside this, junior therapists attended Vestibular Rehabilitation and Falls Training at our Winchester site. The session was strongly practice-focused, supporting clinicians in refine assessment and treatment approaches in this specialist area, while encouraging clinical discussion and shared reasoning.

Our Speech and Language Therapy team also delivered an in-service training afternoon focused on Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). With increasing clinical presentations of this degenerative condition, the session provided an important opportunity to consolidate and expand the team’s knowledge. Each member contributed to the teaching, alongside students from Health Sciences University, reinforcing a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary learning environment.

Hobbs Rehabilitation Liss hosted a specialist mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) rehabilitation course led by Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist Emma Jewer. The course focused on improving understanding of concussion and mTBI, with an emphasis on comprehensive assessment and a range of evidence-based treatment approaches to support recovery and rehabilitation following diagnosis.

Across all of these sessions, a consistent theme emerges: a culture of shared learning, reflective practice, and continuous professional development embedded within everyday clinical work.
