What is it?

DIEGO, developed by Tyromotion, is a robotic arm-shoulder therapy system designed for individuals with reduced upper limb function following neurological injury. It uses intelligent gravity compensation to reduce the effect of gravity on the arm, allowing users to move more freely and with less effort while practising reaching and functional tasks. The system supports both unilateral and bilateral training in a three-dimensional space and incorporates virtual reality to create engaging, interactive rehabilitation environments. DIEGO is suitable for adults and children and can be adapted across different stages of rehabilitation, from passive support to active movement training.

How does gravity compensation and virtual reality enhance upper limb rehabilitation outcomes?

Gravity compensation reduces the load of the arm, enabling individuals with weakness or limited motor control to initiate and complete movements more effectively. This allows for earlier participation in functional tasks and supports the practice of more natural movement patterns.
