PABLO®

Sensor-Based Devices

What is PABLO®?

PABLO is a sensor based device for the hand, arm, shoulder and trunk. The device can support both unilateral and bilateral training of the upper extremities. PABLO has the ability to measure strength of hand function for various different grips, and the active range of motion of the upper extremity.

Who Can Benefit From Using PABLO®?

PABLO is suitable for individuals who need to strengthen and retrain the upper limb following neurological injury such as stroke, head injury or spinal cord injury. It is suitable for both adults and children.

How Does PABLO® Work?

PABLO consists of both motion sensors and a handheld device. The handheld device measures grip strength of the hand, as well as exerted force for pinch, lateral, three point and interdigital grips. The motion sensors allow for individual positioning on body parts or objects in order to measure and train a range of movements. This allows the device to be used creatively by therapists to individualise treatment sessions. The sensors can also be used on the PABLO multiball and multiboard for assistance and movement guidance when required. Sensors are used in combination with interactive therapy games to increase motivation and ensure target-orientated repetitive therapy.

What to Expect

The device forms part of a rehabilitation programme for upper limb weakness. It is usually used in conjunction with conventional upper limb neurophysiotherapy rather than in isolation. It is often used in partnership with other Tyromotion devices such as the AMADEO, TYMO and DIEGO.
