A multidisciplinary approach to pain rehabilitation for people with pain that has persisted.
Living with pain can profoundly impact an individual’s quality of life, affecting physical health, emotional well-being and daily functioning. Pain rehabilitation is a specialist field dedicated to supporting people through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. This involves the personalised assessment and treatment of persistent pain, recognising the unique aspects of each patient’s experience. By providing holistic, body-mind interventions we aim to assist people in living more fulfilling lives.
At Hobbs Rehabilitation Winchester’s Pain Management Clinic, we have a team of dedicated healthcare professionals regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). With a combined experience of over 40 years in the NHS and independent sector, our team specialise in providing support to adults aged 18 and over who are living with persistent pain conditions. The team consists of a clinical psychologist and a physiotherapist who are both committed to enhancing the lives of those affected by persistent pain. Both members of the team are HCPC registered and trained in several evidence-based approaches (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy) for supporting people with pain and various health conditions.
Our psychologist is a member of the British Pain Society, trained in eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) and brings a wealth of expertise to our pain clinic, ensuring that our patients receive compassionate and individualised care.
Our chartered physiotherapist holds a BSc(Hons) and an MSc in Pain Science and Society and is a member of the Physiotherapy Pain Association. They have additional training in Tai Chi and are equipped to provide holistic and individualised support.
As a team, their goals are to empower individuals to regain confidence, manage their condition effectively and return to meaningful activities.
