An exciting role has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled paediatric physiotherapist to join our existing specialist therapy team at Hobbs Rehabilitation, providing clinic and community based physiotherapy.

• To be an autonomous physiotherapy practitioner demonstrating a high standard of assessment and clinical skills and knowledge, including postural management, specialist handling techniques and exercise
• There is the opportunity to deliver aquatic therapy (hydrotherapy)
• Create and provide one-to-one and group physiotherapy intervention to patients with acquired physical and learning impairments, using a comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed practice and treatment options
• Practice safely within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession
• To use effective communication with the child, young person and their family to understand their expectations and develop patient centered goals
• Evaluate patients’ progress using published outcome measures
• Maintain up to date and accurate clinical notes
• To write high quality clinical reports and to provide recommendations in clinical provision, such as for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and case managed clients
• To work within a multi-disciplinary team, communicating with a wide range of clients, families, educational and health professionals
• Attend and contribute to multi professional and family meetings, such as MDT and annual reviews, both face-to-face and via video
• Liaise regularly with the Hobbs MDT and wider care team
• As part of the Hobbs paediatric service, explore and consider the latest technological advances and interventions related to paediatric neurological rehabilitation and how these may be applicable to our Hobbs services and clients
• To undertake or be involved in clinical trials with support from the wider MiNT team
• To be responsible for providing input to local training both in the development and/or delivery as required
• To actively participate in Hobbs training and education programs
• To support the wider Hobbs team and provide physiotherapy cover at other sites if required
• Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent
• HCPC registration
• Member of the CSP
• Minimum 3 years previous experience working as a paediatric physiotherapist with a high level of knowledge and understanding of physiotherapy assessment and treatment approaches relating to acquired, genetic and birth related neurological, neuromuscular and developmental conditions seen in childhood (0 – 18)
• An interest in working with neurotechnology and integrating this into intensive, evidence-based rehab
• Excellent organisational and verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of working as an integrated member of a multidisciplinary team
• Up to date understanding of UK child safeguarding policy and its application
• The successful candidate must have a full driving license and be prepared to travel to training, meetings and community visits
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the service
• Commitment to developing self and others through training, supervision and mentoring
• Maintained evidence of CPD
• Innovative and creative thinking with vision to improve and develop services for the future
● Experience using the Bobath principles of assessment and treatment
● Interest or involvement in research at any level (this can include service development projects and audits)
● Experience of working with advanced neurotechnology
● Experience of teaching others at any level (this can include in-house training programmes)
● Presentation skills
● Competent with IT skills such as familiarity with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Google Drives
