An exciting role has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate paediatric physiotherapist to join our existing specialist therapy team at Hobbs Rehabilitation, providing clinic and community based children’s physiotherapy and expanding the use of neurotechnology within our paediatric service.
We are looking for an experienced paediatric physiotherapist with excellent clinical and communication skills, who has an interest in the role of neurotechnology in rehabilitation. This new role will be based in our Winchester and Liss clinics, predominantly working with paediatric outpatients, with some community visits. Part of your role will be to build your knowledge of neurotechnology and its application within the paediatric client group, working with the MiNT team and undertaking research activities. This could include meeting with academic institutions and technology companies, trialling of new devices, carrying out clinical research interventions as part of clinical trials, and creating and delivering educational material both online and in person. Prior experience with neurotechnology is desirable but not essential.

● Demonstrate a high standard of assessment, clinical skills and knowledge, including postural management, specialist handling techniques, exercise progression and hydrotherapy.
● Create and provide one-to-one and group physiotherapy intervention to patients with acquired physical and learning impairments, using a comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed practice and treatment options.
● Work autonomously and professionally within the community setting, seeking support when required if outside of pre-arranged supervision.
● Practice safely within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession.
● Use effective communication with the child, young person and their family to understand their
expectations and develop patient centered goals.
● Evaluate patients’ progress using published outcome measures.
● Maintain up to date and accurate clinical notes.
● Write high quality clinical reports and to provide recommendations in clinical provision, such as for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and case managed clients.
● Work within a multi-disciplinary team, communicating with a wide range of clients, families, educational and health professionals.
● Attend and contribute to multi professional and family meetings, such as annual reviews, both face-to-face and via video link.
● Liaise regularly with the Hobbs MDT and wider care team.
● Travel to external research sites and academic institutions to deliver training and education.
● Undertake or be involved in clinical trials with support from the wider MiNT team.
● Creating and delivering educational material online and in person relating to neurotechnology.
● Provide input to local training both in the development and/or delivery as required.
● Actively participate in Hobbs training and education programs.
● Support the wider Hobbs team and provide physiotherapy cover at other sites if required.

● Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
● HCPC registration.
● Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
● Minimum 3 years previous experience working as a paediatric physiotherapist with a sound knowledge and
understanding of physiotherapy assessment and treatment approaches relating to acquired, genetic and
birth related neurological, neuromuscular and developmental conditions seen in childhood (0 – 18).
● Excellent organisational and verbal and written communication skills.
● An interest in working with neurotechnology.
● Experience of working as an integrated member of a multidisciplinary team.
● Up to date understanding of UK child safeguarding policy and its application.
● Commitment to developing self and others through training, supervision and mentoring.
● Maintained evidence of CPD.
● Innovative and creative thinking with vision to improve and develop services for the future.
● Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the service.
● Full driving licence and be prepared to travel to training, meetings and community visits.
● Experience using the Bobath principles of assessment and treatment
● Interest or involvement in research at any level (this can include service development projects and audits)
● Experience of teaching others at any level (this can include in-house training programmes)
● Presentation skills
● Competent with IT skills such as familiarity with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Drive and video meeting.
