An exciting opportunity for a specialist Physiotherapist within our existing multi-disciplinary therapy team at Hobbs Rehabilitation, Oaksey House. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate therapist with excellent clinical skills and experience in neurological rehabilitation across the clinical pathway, including specialist assessment and treatment planning skills. The successful applicant will join an established multi-disciplinary team working with inpatients and outpatients with brain and spinal cord injuries, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Sports and Exercise Therapists. There will be extensive opportunities for career and professional development, supporting you to further develop specialist clinical skills, as well as involvement in research, service development and working with advanced neurotechnology. Hobbs’ services are expanding and developing, you will be integral to the continued growth of these.
Oaksey House is the base of the Injured Jockeys Fund from which Hobbs Rehabilitation provides specialist rehabilitation for individuals under 70 years old, working alongside the RFU Injured Players Fund and the Injured Jockeys Fund as well as case managed, CCG and privately funded clients. Hobbs Rehabilitation at Oaksey House provides intensive rehabilitation packages involving the full IDT working closely with external providers and the NHS.
Oaksey House provides facilities including a fully equipped gym with an antigravity treadmill and Hydrotherapy pool, all fully accessible.
The role will include supervision of junior staff, involvement in in-service training delivery, service development and maintaining links with partners and clinical contacts.
Hobbs Rehabilitation has been lucky enough to send a team to the Inter Spinal Unit Games annually accompanied by clinical staff to support in competitions and trialling different sports. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join this team in September this year.

● Assessing patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments using a range of formal and informal assessments.
● Practice safely within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession.
● Formulate patient-centred goals in conjunction with IDT.
● Create and provide one-to-one and group physiotherapy intervention to patients with acquired physical
and cognitive impairments, using a comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed practice and
treatment options.
● Evaluate patients’ progress using published outcome measures.
● Liaising regularly with the Hobbs MDT and wider care team.
● Maintain up to date and accurate clinical notes using site-specific software and local procedures.
● Write high quality patient reports, including MDT discharge reports for inpatients.
● Attend and contribute to patient and family meetings, both face-to-face and via video.
● Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
● HCPC registration.
● Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
● Knowledge and understanding of physiotherapy assessment and treatment approaches relating to
acquired neurological conditions and spinal cord injury.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Experience of working as an integrated member of a multidisciplinary team.
● Neurological rehabilitation experience across the clinical pathway.
● Commitment to developing self and others through training, supervision and mentoring.
● Innovative and creative thinking with vision to improve and develop services for the future.
● Confidence engaging with local community services including facilitating patients within the community.
● Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the service.
The successful candidate must have a full clean driving licence and be prepared to travel to training and community visits.
