Placing You at the Centre of Care

Make this summer one to remember with Paediatric Intensive Therapy Weeks at Hobbs Rehabilitation at Chedington

July 17, 2026

Imagine your child building strength, confidence, and independence while spending their summer surrounded by gorgeous Dorset countryside, meeting horses, exploring new activities, and working alongside some of the UK’s leading paediatric neurological rehabilitation specialists.

This summer, Hobbs Rehabilitation at Chedington is offering Paediatric Intensive Therapy Weeks designed to help children with neurological conditions make meaningful progress in an inspiring, supportive, and enjoyable environment.

Set within more than 500 acres of stunning Dorset countryside, Hobbs Rehabilitation at Chedington provides a truly exceptional backdrop for neurological rehabilitation. Home to 70 horses and three equestrian centres, an adaptive sports hub, and state-of-the-art neurotechnology, it offers far more than a traditional therapy clinic.

Here, children have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in an environment where every experience can contribute to their rehabilitation journey.

What will an intensive programme include?

Our intensive therapy weeks bring together an experienced multidisciplinary team specialising in paediatric neurological rehabilitation.

Each programme is tailored to the individual child and may include:

  • Specialist paediatric physiotherapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech and language therapy
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Functional, goal-based therapy, integrated throughout each day

Working collaboratively, our therapists create personalised programmes that focus on improving movement, communication, independence, and participation in everyday life.

Our therapy team are also able to facilitate the use of our brilliant neurotechnology, especially the UK’s only paediatric Lokomat® Pro robotic gait trainer, as part of their intensive programme. This advanced robotic walking system supports repetitive, high-quality gait training and is integrated alongside conventional therapy to maximise outcomes.

Adaptive Sports

One of the most exciting aspects about our intensive therapy weeks is the opportunity to experience activities that are both enjoyable and massively therapeutically valuable. By using adaptive sports as therapy, your child will be able to reach the goals that they have been working towards in their rehabilitation, in an environment beyond the clinic.

Depending on each child’s goals and abilities, programmes may include:

  • Adaptive paddleboarding
  • Adaptive cycling
  • Horse riding
  • Equine therapy
  • Rock climbing
  • Archery
  • Air rifle shooting

These carefully selected activities are more than just fun; they also help to develop balance, coordination, confidence, strength, communication, and independence whilst encouraging children to challenge themselves in new ways.

Personalised Intensive Therapy

Every child is unique, which is why every programme is designed around their individual goals.

Our intensive weeks typically include three to four hours of 1:1 therapy each day, with therapy time tailored to suit each child’s needs, abilities, and rehabilitation goals.

Whether the focus is improving walking, developing upper limb function, enhancing communication, increasing independence, or building confidence, our experienced team works closely with families to create meaningful and achievable goals.
