Last week, we were lucky enough to welcome the Lawn Tennis Association and Lucy Shuker to Hobbs Rehabilitation at Chedington to learn more about Wheelchair Tennis and how we can best use it in our therapy with our patients

Matthew Grover and Luke Mulvihill gave our therapists a crash course in wheelchair tennis, which they massively enjoyed (and even got a little bit competitive at points!)

We invited some of our patients to join us as Lucy gave us a talk about her journey from spinal cord injury to winning medals in the Paralympics, and all the wonderful things Wheelchair Tennis has given her and how effective sport can be in one’s recovery journey.

Our patients then got out onto the court with Lucy, Matthew, and Luke to give it a go themselves – they absolutely smashed it and had a brilliant time, and have said they’d like to continue going forward as they enjoyed it so much!

Thank you so much to Lucy, Matthew, Luke, and the LTA – we hope to see you at Chedington again soon!
