Patient Story

Georgina

August 10, 2023

Georgina faced a life-changing diagnosis in 2003 when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. However, it wasn’t until 2016 that her ability to walk began to decline, impacting her daily life.

Nevertheless, Georgina’s zest for life remained undiminished. She continued her love for reading, shopping, spending time with loved ones, and exploring foreign lands. With her son now approaching 21, she recognises that dealing with mobility challenges during his younger years would have posed greater difficulties.

Viewing her condition as a catalyst for positive change, she appreciates her newfound healthiness and positive mindset. Georgina believes her stress-heavy past contributed to her multiple sclerosis, but she now sees it as a chance to learn and grow.

Walking proved to be Georgina’s primary hurdle, as her right leg needed to relearn proper movement. Her independence took a hit, as she often relied on a wheelchair and assistance from others for longer distances. Despite this change, her determination persisted. Her days were dedicated to exercises, osteo, acupuncture, personal training, hydrotherapy, and oxygen therapy, all geared towards improving herself.

Early in 2023, Georgina embarked on her rehabilitation journey with Hobbs Rehabilitation. Working alongside Amie, a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist, she focused on pelvic tilts and walking exercises. Complementing this effort, Sophie, Rehabilitation Assistant, guided her through invigorating hydrotherapy sessions. Georgina’s dedication grew when she discovered the Exopulse Mollii Suit, which she trialled and later purchased. The suit, combined with her efforts at Hobbs Rehabilitation and beyond, offered a glimmer of independence.

Georgina’s enthusiasm was contagious. With every step forward, her spirits lifted. She aspired to walk independently once again, a goal that seemed within reach due to the Suit and the holistic approach she embraced at Hobbs Rehabilitation. The encouragement and support from Amie and Sophie motivated her to keep pushing forward.

The amalgamation of the Exopulse Mollii Suit and her comprehensive therapy at Hobbs Rehabilitation intertwined with her external activities, began to manifest a tangible change in Georgina’s life. Her story stood as a testament to her resilience and the transformative impact that commitment, determination, and expert guidance can have on a person’s journey to reclaim their independence and vitality.
