First Woman Chief Executive of the CSP Visits Hobbs Rehabilitation

September 10, 2015

Professor Karen Middleton CBE is to visit Hobbs Rehabilitation on Friday 2nd October 2015.

Helen Hobbs, co-founder, says “This represents a fantastic opportunity for us to share our success story with such a well-respected and inspiring leader. Karen is herself a Physiotherapist with a background in using innovation to improve patient care and so we know she will enjoy getting her hands on the latest technology we have available for our patients, such as the Bionic Leg and the Exoskeleton”.

We have a growing reputation as a leader in neurorehabilitation and our recent article THE BIONIC REVOLUTION,

published in the recently launched magazine B21, has further added to our profile”.

Nicky Ellis, co-founder adds “Our team at Hobbs is excited to meet with Karen for an informal lunch followed by a

Q & A session. The prospect of getting to speak with her directly is causing quite a buzz about the place, with therapists travelling from our other centres or sending their questions in”.

Professor Middleton worked in the NHS for 28 years prior to joining the CSP and is the first physiotherapist and first woman to hold the post.

Speaking about her visit to Hobbs, she adds “Rehabilitation gives people back their independence and allows them to resume everyday activities.

“This is great for patients but also saves money by reducing their long-term health and social care needs, so I’m looking forward to seeing the excellent work being done at Hobbs Rehabilitation.”
