Georgia is a paralympic-trained rower, having won World Championship titles when she was younger. However, after sustaining her complex neurological condition in 2021, she was unable to continue her sports training. Despite this, with external rehabilitation input, Georgia was selected for the Talent Pathway Programme with the GB Paralympic team in 2023 and currently trains with them.
Georgia came to Hobbs Rehabilitation at Chedington in 2025 being unable to access muscle activity in her legs and had difficulty using her left hand. Whilst she was leading a very successful independent and active life, she had noticed that she may have more physical potential than she was currently accessing and wanted to explore this during her admission.
Coming to Chedington for rehabilitation was a really meaningful opportunity for Georgia to continue her path to recovery, in a facility that offers more than just rehabilitation within the clinic, so that she could confidently pursue her passions.
The main focus for Georgia while she was receiving intensive inpatient rehabilitation at Chedington was to improve her mobility, confidence and independence. Specifically looking at enabling her to be comfortable achieving daily tasks, such as cycling, going to the beach with friends, being able to dance, and cooking etc.
With the help of the multidisciplinary team at Chedington, and the diverse activity opportunities beyond the clinic (including advanced C-Mill VR+ and LokomatPro neurotechnology, tennis, rock-climbing, adaptive sports, her favourite trips to the sea, and the beautiful country grounds of the facility) Georgia was able to steadily progress and achieve her unique goals.

“Treating Georgia was a pleasure, she fully engaged with all the things we threw her way and consolidated her rehab when she went home between her intensive packages. She worked really hard and we were able to use all the facilities Chedington has to offer to be able to achieve her potential. Especially the use of outdoor areas and activities like sea swimming and climbing were pivotal in helping her achieve her goals. It was amazing to see the change and the progress that she made and we had fun at the same time!” – Becky Hobbs, Georgia’s treating Specialist Neurological and Spinal Cord Injury Physiotherapist
“Amazing rehab for my 23 year old para athlete daughter. After years in a wheelchair they’ve got her walking. Cannot praise the imaginative, hands on approach enough. Everything was used to ‘tap’ into her. Nothing was impossible which is a word she’d been told many times before. Thank you.” – Georgia’s Mum
